We live in a world of fierce beauty, so bright, so trembling, that many of us choose to turn away. We see this beauty everywhere we turn our gaze.
In the succulent blossom of flowers in spring,
in the shimmer of grass in the wind,
in the tender innocence of animals at play,
in the all-consuming ache of heartbreak, of grief.
It’s a beauty, I believe, that finds us even in our darkest moments. In our tragedy, our pain, and our longing. There is an inescapable truth to this beauty, one I long to face head-on. For I believe, when we face this truth, it has the means to transform us and reveal what this world truly is…
A garden of piercing wonder,
A Spiral pulsating in its own perfect glory.
My greatest aspiration as an artist — and as a human being — is to capture just a single ray of this awe-inspiring beauty, so that others may see the terrible, beautiful truth that has captured me.
